John Libretti has 30 years of commercial real estate and corporate law experience, including mergers and acquisitions; general corporate law and litigation; commercial and construction law and litigation; and internal and external corporate transactions, including buy-sell agreements, corporate minutes and stock transfers, and corporate finance.

Mr. Libretti's commercial and residential real estate experience includes representing large institutional real estate owners in all facets of conveying, leasing, constructing or financing of real property, including office building, hotels, industrial properties and large malls. In addition, Mr. Libretti represents the owners of large residential, industrial and commercial properties in connection with real estate tax assessment appeals in New York and New Jersey and obtained one of the largest tax refunds in the state of New Jersey for a national hotel and office complex in Newark, New Jersey.

Mr. Libretti currently serves as General Counsel to the Jersey City Redevelopment Agency. The Jersey City Redevelopment Agency is a multi-billion dollar Agency that is responsible for the creation and management of all real estate projects in the Jersey City Redevelopment Zone, including housing, office space, retail, warehouse, and industrial facilities. The Agency has been responsible for the largest real estate projects in Jersey City, including the skyscrapers housing Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs and Lefrak. As General Counsel to the Agency, Mr. Libretti advised the Board of Commissioners on all legal matters and represents the Agency with regard to closings and related transactions.

Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Libretti operated a private practice in Hackensack, New Jersey and was general counsel to a national corporation. He concentrated his practice in the areas of general corporate law, commercial and construction law, real estate tax appeals, bankruptcy law and litigation. Mr. Libretti served as an instructor at the Institute of Paralegal Studies and as an Adjunct Professor in Paralegal Studies and Real Estate Commercial Law at Montclair State College. Since 1987, Mr. Libretti has been serving as a Public Arbitrator/Hearing Officer for the National Association of Security Dealers. In this capacity, he is a public member of the binding arbitration board conducting trials concerning broker-client disputes, violations of NASDAQ regulations and broker-dealer disputes.
