William Sullivan concentrates his practice in the areas of environmental law, land use law, and municipal law. Mr. Sullivan’s work includes representing clients with regard to a wide variety of land use applications, environmental compliance, transportation and land use planning, and litigation. He has represented both public and private entities, ranging from commercial and industrial property owners and developers, to municipalities, zoning and planning boards and other governing bodies. He represented the Zoning Board of Adjustment for Union Township for five years. He currently represents or has recently represented private developers involved in significant redevelopment projects in Harrison, East Orange, Orange, West Orange, Kearny and Wallington. Mr. Sullivan’s litigation practice includes cases related to environmental and commercial insurance coverage disputes, contaminated site remediation, and products liability. In addition, he has experience with multi-party toxic tort and mass disaster litigation and environmental and products liability litigation. Mr. Sullivan served as a Clinical Professor at the Rutgers School of Law Environmental Law Clinic, where he specialized in litigation, research and regulatory adoption and review related to the Municipal Land Use Law, the Industrial Site Recovery Act, the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act, federal transportation statutes, and other statutes and programs. He also served as an Adjunct Professor in Environmental Law at Rutgers University, Cook College.
