Fred D. Zemel has been appointed by Governor Jon S. Corzine to serve on the New Jersey-Israel Commission, a state advisory body established to foster stronger economic, scientific, educational and cultural relations with the State of Israel. The New Jersey-Israel Commission is comprised of lay members appointed by the Governor and legislative members appointed by the State Legislature. The Commission is divided into three subcommittees that focus on key areas of interest for both New Jersey and Israel, including economic development, education, culture and tourism. “This appointment is truly an honor for me,” said Zemel. “I look forward to the opportunity to participate in furthering the Commission’s effort to broaden the state’s relationship with Israel.” Mr. Zemel, a Partner of the firm, specializes in the areas of corporate law, business law, commercial transactions, commercial financing, real estate development, securities, and intellectual property and technology. Mr. Zemel has substantial, national experience in all facets of general corporate, commercial finance, real estate development, and securities practice, including drafting and negotiating asset and stock purchase agreements, real estate development agreements, operating agreements, prospectuses for public and private offerings, stockholder agreements and corporate organizational documents. Additionally, Mr. Zemel has extensive experience representing substantial banking institutions in commercial banking transactions. Mr. Zemel’s practice also encompasses intellectual property and technology, where his primary focus is on the drafting and negotiation of intellectual property and technology contracts.
